Services for Children and Adolescents

BACF offers both psychological and behavioral services for children and adolescents affected by ADD, ADHD, aggressive and oppositional behavior, impulsivitiy, social deficits, Tourette's, and other disorders. BACF works with physicians, the family, and schools to ensure holistic, practical solutions.

REACH

The REACH program provides applied behavior analysis treatment and consultation to children with developmental disabilities and learning and behavioral challenges. Our staff work directly with children and also provide training to parents, teachers, and therapists to ensure that each child has an individualized, cohesive plan of care. Our treatment focuses on teaching children the skills they need to improve their behavior. Programs may target communication, adaptive, social, or academic skills. Each child's program is individualized and data is collected and analyzed throughout the treatment process to ensure that progress is being made. Parents are integral part of the treatment process and a valued member of their child's care.

Parent Training

Parent training groups are very helpful to parents of children with challenging behavior such as those diagnosed with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder. In parent groups, BACF combines diactic training in behavioral principles with dynamic interactions amongst parents. Thus, BACF creates a support group experience for parents while they learn useful, scinetifically based strategies of behavior management and work thorugh failures and successes with their children.

Staff Training

Behavior analysis is the treatment strategy of choice for effective treatment of behavior problems. Residential and educational facilities that service children and adults with behavioral challenges must have well trained staff in order to address problems with behavior such as self injurious behavior, aggression, refusals to cooperate with staff and dangerous behavior towards other residents.

BACF's Board Certified Behavior Analysts offer a twenty-hour training program required by the State of Florida for direct care staff working in residential facilities for clients with highly intensive behavior problems. The training program includes evaluation components to asses acquisition of classroom based skills and the generalization of these skills to the residential environment.
